Cuts to the country’s food inspection programs are putting the health of Canadians at risk, according to the union that represents food inspectors.
Agriculture Union officials are meeting in Edmonton on today to speak about changes made by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) that they say endanger the health of consumers.
CBC News will livestream the announcement beginning at 10 a.m. MT/ 12 p.m. ET.
The news conference comes less than a week after the CFIA announced a recall of chicken products in Western Canada and Ontario over fears of Listeria contamination.
